The Devon and Cornwall Inn is located at the centre of Millbrook, which is a small Cornish village on the Rame peninsula.

A traditional village pub, we offer a good range of local beer, lagers and fine wines, with newly renovated bed and breakfast accommodation, a non-smoking, first floor dining room, and secluded beer garden.

We have been at  The Devon and Cornwall Inn for over six years.

We have worked consistently to develope the business, which now also includes a successfully growing external or private hospitality service. This,

typically, means providing and operating an ‘outside’ bar service for such occasions as engagement parties, wedding receptions, birthdays etc,.

In the main, most of our external business has been at Mt. Edgcumbe House or Polawn Fort, both major wedding venues and both situated on the Rame peninsula. We are used to and experienced at operating in marquees, private residences and gardens, commercial sites etc.

By way of references, may I offer the names of two of the main sources of our

      external hospitality business to date:

      Jo Pavey, of Greenfayre Catering

      Tel. 01752 823698

      Sharan Bettridge of Occaisions

      Tel. 01752 822744

Should you have any questions regarding any aspect of the service that we offer, or there is anything else that you would like know that hasn’t been covered here, please dont hesitate to call and ask.

Client Fee

This is an ‘up front‘ charge of £195. It is the only ‘up front’ charge made. It is to cover the general organisation, and staffing of the bar. Payment is expected to be made two weeks prior to the function, so that in the event of any cancellations, the cost of booking the staff, is covered i.e. they still get paid and so remain willing to be booked to work again .

Service times.

The actual service times to be agreed with the customer.

We are flexible on start and finish times and these do not effect the £195

client fee. Of course, we have to operate within the confines of the law, in terms of licensed hours, but that is about it.

Stock.

The actual cost of stock purchase and any subsequent wastage is borne by us. This is where the client benefits greatly from this arrangement, as there is little if no risk being incurred, in terms of bar costs, as a result of not having to purchase stock or subsequently have to manage the leftovers!

In reality, our risk in terms of stock waste, is also minimal, as we can manage it through the pub.  This also helps us to keep our costs down, and the ‘up - front’ charge to our clients.

As you will see when looking at the bar tariff, it is reasonably priced, and we operate with pretty much a full range of the usual bar stock.

We obviously cant carry every stock line available, but are more than happy to discuss any particular requests  before hand with our prospective clients, so avoiding any disappointments on the big day.

Glassware.

For health and safety reasons, as well as practical operational ones, we use disposable glasses, as a matter of course. Should real glasses be prefered, then there would be a hire charge for this, which would be passed direct to the client and added to the £195 client fee.

Staffing.

It might be worth noting that all the staff that work with us on the external bars, either work for us currently at the pub, or have done so in the past. They are all reliable, competent, honest and trustworthy individuals.
